  • Tuesday 29 September 2020 Salisbury Cathedral School partner with FMS UK We are excited to announce that Salisbury Cathedral School is partnering with FMS UK to introduce a revolutionary system of movement screening and physical well-being for our pupils.  
  • Friday 25 September 2020 Year 2 take a step back in time Year 2's topic, 'Into the Time Machine' took them to Breamore Countryside Museum. The museum provided a fascinating insight into the days when the village was self-sufficient. The children enjoyed seeing full size replicas of numerous trades and crafts including a blacksmith, village shop, school and dairy etc. The museum also has one of the finest collections of steam powered farm machinery, tractors, barn machinery and historical tools.
  • Friday 25 September 2020 Year 4 visit Butser Ancient Farm Year 4 have been learning about Vikings in history and are currently reading the book ‘How to train your dragon’ by Cressida Cowell in English. Dressed as very impressive looking Vikings the Year 4 children and their teachers visited Butser Ancient Farm in Waterlooville where they made jewellery and sewed their initials in runes. They dug in a gridded pit like real archaeologists and made a fence from oak and hazel.

  • Tuesday 22 September 2020 Exploring theories of the solar system Year 5 took their science lesson outside where they acted out the 'Geocentric and Heliocentric' models of the Solar System to learn about the scientists, Ptolemy and Copernicus. They compared these theories to modern day thinking.
  • Tuesday 22 September 2020 Exploring the rich diversity The start of this term has seen Years 3 and 4 thriving with their outdoor learning. Mr Frost has been thrilled with the children's fantastic curiosity to notice and celebrate all of nature's minutiae and the rich diversity of wildlife within the school grounds. The children have shown their creative flair whilst learning about different plants and trees, crystallising their instinct to love and conserve the natural world.
  • Tuesday 15 September 2020 SCS Welcome 55 New Starters It has been busy and exciting start to the term with 55 new pupils joining SCS across all year groups. We have welcomed children who live locally, those who have recently relocated and families from Kazakhstan, Pakistan, New Orleans, Spain and Kong Hong. The pre-prep has expanded and new staff and classes have been appointed to ensure that our class sizes remain small and our ratios high to maintain the standards and care we are proud to offer.  The prep school has also welcomed numerous new pupils and staff and we look forward to hearing more from them as the term progresses.
  • Friday 11 September 2020 Bright Explorers - Forest School Toddler Group Intrepid toddlers and pre-schoolers, aged between 2 and 4 years, took temporary residence under a large tree in the beautiful grounds of Salisbury Cathedral School this morning for the first meeting of the new Bright Explorers forest school group. The Bright Explorers will meet every Friday this term, led by Sarah Tribe of the Wiltshire Wildlife Trust, to get muddy and have fun learning about nature.

  • Thursday 20 August 2020 BSA Covid-Safe Charter Salisbury Cathedral School is pleased to support the Boarding Schools Association COVID-SAFE Charter. In preparation of our boarders returning to school we are working with the BSA to ensure we have the correct procedures in place to ensure the health and safety of our pupils and staff.
  • Wednesday 8 July 2020 Christ Triumphant We are delighted to share with you our final hymn of term, where over 90 singers and three trumpeters have come together to sing one of our favourite hymns. Pupils, parents, alumni, grandparents and extended family have made this into one of the most special moments of the term. Thank you everyone!
  • Wednesday 24 June 2020 Roald Dahl writing sheds After learning how Roald Dahl crafted his stories in a writing shed, Year 3 set about trying to create their very own writing sheds. Inspired by their new special places, Year 3 designed wonderful posters and fact files all about Roald Dahl’s life and his books.
